Women's suffering

Why would some one in their right mind go ahead and arrange a marriage for their child without knowing how they will feel. Well actually it explains how one feels and the mentality basically they don't care because it is their tradition. Umm like they say the same shit that the parents know is the same shit that they will pass on to their children. Well it is sad really especially the women, The husband to be usually is allowed to shag as many women as he likes and the woman is supposed to be a virgin. Women being beaten up losing teeth being shouted and threatened every day. Trapped cant even get out being psychologically abused, sexual starvation made to feel rejected and developing low self esteem. I think time has come that all women should be given a choice really and empowerment. It is nice to see women taking centre stage in some societies. I was saddened by some News that was run on aljazera showing these men in India beating up women who went to the pub to enjoy themselves saying that's against their culture. Saying that they(MEN) are trying to restore their culture. How pathetic picking on defenseless women. I remember when girls started wearing trousers and mini skirts in Malawi. Oh boy it caused so much controversy some girls were ridiculed beaten up taunted and some even raped. there was a case in court where a victim of rape was asked to wear what she wore on the day she was raped. Once she came out wearing what she wore that day the case was dismissed saying she asked for it. I don't think anything like this can happen now in Malawi, because at least now there are a few organisations protecting women rights. As much as it is a case of mainly men feeling threatened by their women it is also a case of history. Some say a woman has got her place when given too much power it messes up their morals and start looking at men as being inferior. In the end they make fun of their men eventually braking up as they feel the men are dragging them. This is however not entirely true as their are some men who enjoy being in the back ground. Like some tribes in south Africa and Zimbabwe the women work and feed the family while the husband house sits at home and look after the children. I also find it interesting about a certain tribe in Asia that share wives, a case of two or three men being married to one woman. Funny enough every one seems happy in their culture to share the wife. Yet if you come to African cultures that's unheard off the woman will be killed. In Egypt and other Arab countries on the other hand Men who rape women are forced to marry that woman. AS if that would be comforting imagine the nightmare of leaving and sleeping with the rapist. In some sectors of Arab countries women are raped as a form of punishment. Unfortunately done with the women's family consent. Just in my back yard in Malawi these men in Mangochi marry their own daughters chasing their wives. I'm not sure if this is going on because it is just sick but last i heard some women rights group was lobbying government to do something about it. it is sad weird and strange that all this is going on in the world there is probably more that i haven't listed here all i can say is keep your head up women change is coming. They can delay the change but they cant stop it.
